The research of Milgram and related articles on social behaviour in the link below are instructive. Are we living in an autonomous or agentic state? Are we in the blind service of systems around us or do we advocate that systems work for the well-being of ourselves and others?
Each of us is here to make a positive difference and to protect humanity. If most of us insist that those to whom we delegate leadership are our servants rather than masters, then empowerment of all persons is better assured. There can be no “1984”, or Holocaust or Rwanda of the past.
There should be no Trumpism, or Lower and Middle income country, “big man” corruption and fascism in places such as in Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, Asia etc.
What is happening in your country? What is our current stance? How will we change?
This is a good article reflecting how oppressed people perpetuate their own dis-empowerment by not owning the process of our liberation. Freedom lies in “people action” at the community level and then communities joining together. It is only when governments are held on a tight leash of accountability to aware and activist people movements, that societies progress.
It is surprising how what we often take for granted are the best things for our wellness. Being connected, giving, gratitude and enjoying nature are included.
Let us live simply good to live well. Giving is Good.
